media policy & exhibition standards

This exhibition seeks print works in all printmaking media, including lithographs, screenprints, relief prints, intaglio, monoprints, letterpress, artists books, digital prints and print-based installations. Once work is accepted, 2D Print work must be framed, wired and ready to hang. If you are submitting sculpture, book arts or installation based work, please provide a written installation plan in advance and include any required hardware for installation. Artists should plan to install their own artwork if it presents significant installation challenges. We encourage experimentation. Work must have been created within the last three years and may not have been previously shown in a juried exhibition on Oahu.

jurying & notification

Work will be juried online. Work must be truthfully represented. Do not submit digitally re-touched images or simulated drafts of projected work. Slight lightening and brightening of a digital file for better online viewing is acceptable. Honolulu Printmakers and the juror reserve the right to exclude delivered work that deviates from how it was presented at the time of jurying.

entry fees

$40 for the first entry; + $5 for each additional, up to 5 entries. Current HP members receive a 20% discount on entry; please get in touch to get a discount code before you pay. Refunds cannot be issued after you pay to submit your work.

submission of work online

Payment and submission will be completed on the Honolulu Printmakers website between Feb. 9-23. Formatting images: Format and upload each image as a JPG file. Save your image resolution to 300 PPI so that it appears sharp and crisp. Max file size is 10 MB; anything larger will not be accepted. Naming image files: Name each JPG file using the convention LastName_Title. For example, Käthe Kollwitz submitting a piece called Self Portrait would label her file Kollwitz_Self-Portrait.jpg
