Drum Leaf Binding ~ Book Arts Only 1 space remaining!
Instructor: Marcia Morse
January 12 and 19, (2 sessions)
9:00 am - 12:00 noon Sunday
Drumleaf Binding is a preferred style of binding for artists and printmakers who want to gather a group of works on paper in a structure that lies flat and allows double-page spreads to be viewed without sewing in the center fold. In the first session we will prepare the pages, complete the first stage of applying adhesive, and do some preliminary preparation of the covers. In the second session we will complete the covers and assemble the completed structure.
Some bookbinding experience is helpful but not required; as with most such processes, patience and precision will be your friends.
A supply fee of $15 paid to the instructor will cover the cost of book board, book cloth, adhesives and other binding materials. A detailed list of tools and materials you will bring will be provided after registration.
