Inking + Etching course focused on creating 2-3 color separations printed off of deeply etched copper plates. Learn how to change the Viscosity of ink with modifiers and print both the intaglio part of your plate and the top surface with a roller at the same time. We will get out the Big rollers and have all 3 etching presses rolling for this course! Class size limited to 8 participants

Class 1 : Friday January 24th 5 pm - 9 pm - Plate Preparation - Get your copper plate ready for a deep etch.

Class 2 and 3 : Saturday January 25th and Sunday January 26th 10 am - 1 pm will focus on learning to create color separations and printing. Supervised open studio time till 5 pm each day

We use the safest intaglio materials and techniques available today. Baldwin Ink Grounds offer traditional results with less toxicity. If you have always wanted to try printmaking or have been away from it a while and want to get oriented to using the HP studio this is a perfect place to start.

All Class supplies included. 1 - 6” x 9” Copper plate included in the class fee- TBD, (Larger sizes available for purchase), 1 sheet of printmaking paper, inks and etching tools. Course includes 10 hours of instruction and an additional 10 hours of open studio time.
