This course is an introductory experience in stone lithography.
Students will be exposed to a variety of processes, such as drawing techniques using assortment of crayons, reduction methods, and tusche wash application. The course will focus on traditional practices as well as unconventional approaches to the medium. Previous experience in any lithography practice or at least one previous printmaking class is required.
All shop supplies such as inks, newsprint, graining supplies, tusche, litho crayons and crayon holders are included in the class fee. Printmaking Paper is available for purchase in the HP studio. Limited to 6 participants using small size stones.
NOTE: This is the first time we are offering stone lithography in our new studio — size of stones will be limited while we gain experience offering stone lithography again. This media is not appropriate for people with chemical sensitivity.
