A portfolio of color prints organized by the Honolulu Printmakers to celebrate John Kjargaard, Honolulu Printmakers Gift Print Artist 1955 & 1976.

Honolulu Printmakers board member Jeffrey Davis acquired a large group of John Kjargaard prints. These prints are the point of inspiration for current Honolulu Printmakers members to work in color for this portfolio. For Kjargaard color was integral to his prints. He dreamed in color. His work was abstract though always routed in nature. In his prints forms are related to what he saw in nature. But representation was not enough. He arranged shapes and lines to form balanced patterns. For this portfolio each print artist chooses a print from Jeffrey Davis’s collection as a point of inspiration.
